Listed below are latest and most similar issues related to 'POLLUTED RIVERWATER'' as published through our local medias that had really attracted me, and therefore mR expressively wish to HIGHLIGHT and share those intensified issues as stated.
1. Extraction from THE BORNEO POST, Thursday, dated 18th.November 2010
By MARY FRANCIS FROM THE BORNEO POST dated 18th. NOVEMBER 2010.
QUOTED from an article published on THE BORNEO POST on Thursday, 18th. November 2010, Datuk Jacob Dungau Sagan, MP for Baram constituency in the state of Sarawak, has stated his (deeply concerned) on the people of his constituency that has been badly affected by polluted river water particularly in Bakong and Baram areas as mentioned. THANK YOU DATUK JACOB DUNGAU SAGAN!!....
In his speech he said "WE HAVE GIVEN OUT MANY TANKS SO FAR THIS YEAR UNDER THE MINOR RURAL PROJECT......PRIORITY IS GIVEN TO THOSE WHO REALLY NEED IT AND WE GIVE OUT IMMEDIATELY...to those FROM THE RESIDENTS OF AFFECTED VILLAGES BY THE RIVER BANKS".... HE FURTHER REVEALED THAT HE ....."HAS RECIEVED A LOT OF COMPLAINTS FROM VILLAGERS (IN BARAM AND BAKONG AREAS) THAT THEY HAVE DEVELOPED SKIN DISEASES AFTER BATHING IN POLLUTED RIVERS IN THEIR VILLAGES".... THE INTERNATIONAL TRADE AND INDUSTRY DEPUTY MINISTER (SAGAN), FURTHER COMMENTED THAT ... "IT WAS becoming A BIG PROBLEM FOR PEOPLE LIVING ALONG THE RIVERBANKS AND IN OIL PALM PLANTATIONS TO GET THEIR SUPPLY OF CLEAN WATER DUE TO POLLUTION", ....BUT OF WHICH HE ..." BELIEVED THAT THE SOURCE OF POLLUTION WAS DUE TO ACTIVITIES FROM LOGGING, AGRICULTURE AND OIL PALM PLANTATIONS. AS A NUMBER OF PLANTATIONS INCREASE, MORE CHEMICALS ARE USED TO CONTROL PESTS IN ADDITION TO THE USE OF FERTILISERS AND WEEDICIDES", he said.

Consequently, Sagan SUGGESTED ...."FOR THOSE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE POLLUTION TO BE MORE AWARE AND NOT SIMPLY DISCHARGE CHEMICALS OR DUMP THE CONTAINERS INTO THE RIVER".... he (Sagan) prolonged his speech......ADVISED THEM (those responsible for the pollution)... "MUST FIND A PROPER WAY TO DISPOSE OF UNWANTED ITEMS OR CHEMICALS" ....... "INODER TO HELP REDUCE WATER POLLUTION THUS PROTECT WATER SOURCES OF THE VILLEGES AS WELL AS MARINE LIFE UPON WHICH THE VILLAGERS DEPEND FOR FOOD" .........

2. Extraction from THE BORNEO POST, Saturday, dated 27th. November, 2010
SIMILARLY as quoted, the same issue have been brought up by residents of another affected village, namely Rumah Gangga Kumbang in Matu District, .....that the water in Sungai Bruan Besar was muddy and polluted....."From our daily observation, the water in Sungai Bruan Besar, which flows right infront of our longhouse, is getting more muddy or yellowish in colour as the days go by"...., "What makes us worried is that the water is apparently polluted by the FERTILISERS, PESTICIDES and other harmful CHEMICALS widely used by the oil palm plantations and other agricultural activities surrounding our locality, which could badly affected our HEALTH and WELL-BEING", said Tr. Gangga.
In responding to the issue brought up by Tr. Gangga, the Matu District Officer (En. Habari Baka) promised to highlight the longhouse requests for TREATED WATER SUPPLY asa well as other matters to the relevant government departments and agencies. Other govenment agency, namely Matu District Information Officer (En. Zaini Morshidi) did mentioned that...."the aim of the visit to Rumah Gangga is to have closer look onto living conditions for the rural coomunity in Matu District and to get first-hand information on their NEEDS and REQUIREMENTS. At the same time it also aim to disseminate clearer information on the 1 Malaysia concept to the rural community", said Zaini.

REMARK(S):
TQ! to Tr. GANGGA, for his willingness and kindly exposed the issue for relevant authorities to act appropriately ..... THE ISSUES as clearly STATED AND LISTED ABOVE SHOULD BECOME OUR "EYES OPENING" AND "BENCHMARK" BEFORE ANY FURTHER ENCROACHMENT TO YOUR LAND OR NATIVE CUSTOMARY LAND (NCL) -THAT IS YOUR PASTEUR GROUND IN YOUR LOCALITY OR EVENT OTHER SURROUNDING AREAS FOR FUTURE COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT. FOREMOST, ... "CONSIDERING" ITS DEADLY EFFECT AND INEVITABLY, THE PROLONG (CONSEQUENCES) OF THE ACTIVITIES THAT WILL AFFECT THE well-bieng of LOCAL HABITANTS (specifically THE INNOCENT PEOPLE). AND SUBSEQUENTLY mR RECOMMENDED THAT, PROVIDING MOST VITALLY BASIC AMENITIES (SUCH as WHOLESOME WATER SUPPLY AND ROAD OR EVEN ELECTRICITY SUPPLY) SHOULD HAVE ALREADY BEEN CONNECTED TO THE KNOWINGLY AFFECTED VILLAGES OR LOCAL AREAS, PRIOR TO ITS ACTUAL (PROPOSITION) OR (PRE-IMPLEMENTATION) OF SIMILAR ACTIVITIES TO BE DEVELOPED INTO A BIG SCALE PROJECT, SO AS INORDER TO MINIMISE ITS IRREVERSIBLE (EFFECTS) TO THE LOCAL CITIZEN. Ideally, please note that ....., (knowingly) letting the innocent people consuming (oviously man-made cause) polluted river water (and in this case is, their solely source of daily bread) is virtually worse than other intentionally well-known homicide act.
CONCLUSION:
CONCLUSIVELY,... TO THE ISSUE OF 'RIVER POLLUTION' AND ITS 'CONSUMERS (THE AFFECTED VILLAGERS)' IS THAT "ALL PARTIES INVOLVED (particularly the Jawatankuasa Keselamatan dan Kemajuan Kampong (JKKKs) OF THE RELEVANT KAMPONGs (..THOSE VILLAGES ALONG THE RIVERSIDE as stated above, and also the same problems that face by the villages along SG. MENALUN, POI, KANOWIT DISTRICT, AND HIS PEOPLES...is my focus as a few PLACES I`ve quoted) MUST BE AWAKE AND WORKNG TOGETHER THROUGH PROPER PROTOCOL AS RECOGNISED BY THE GOVERNMENT OF THE DAY AND HIS AGENCIES (especially R & DOs), THE ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES (MP and ADUN) OF RESPECTIVE CONSTITUENCY. "WORKING" IT OUT THROUGH (SINGLE FORCE) WILL BE A WASTEd AND LOSING OF (BATTLES) AND ALL KIND OF EXPENDITURES YOU MADE!!!.... THEREFORE, FIGHTING THROUGH "MULTIPLE FORCES" IS PROVEN AND ALWAYS MOST EFFECTIVE WAYS TO GAIN APPROPRIATE ATTENTIONS FROM AUTHORITIES CONCERNED.

Tuai Rumah Gangga:
FROM OUR DAILY OBSERVATION, THE WATER IN SUNGAI BRUAN BESAR, WHICH FLOWS RIGHT INFRONT OF OUR LONGHOUSE, IS GETTING MORE MUDDY OR YELLOWISH IN COLOUR AS THE DAYS GO BY.
